Tier 4 Child Student visa applicants must be aged between 4 and 17. Applicants aged between 4 and 15 can only apply to study at independent fee-paying schools.
The educational institution must hold a Tier 4 sponsor licence and it must issue a CAS (confirmation of acceptance for studies) for the applicant. It is possible to apply for a Tier 4 Child Student visa from outside the UK or, in some circumstances, from in the UK, typically when the applicant wishes to continue with their studies.
Applicants must have in place suitable arrangements for their travel to the UK, if relevant, and suitable arrangements for living in the UK. They must also show that there are sufficient funds available for them.
